"I grew up in the 1960s and my mother was from Joe Batt's Arm. We used to visit my grandparents and Mom's sisters, brothers and my cousins there every summer. Watching the children brings back a lot of memories for me of that time and place as I was about the same age as the majority of the children in this video. My sister, brother and I grew up in New Brunswick. It is wonderful to have this snapshot of time."

Montreal: First edition of Just for Laughs Film, July 13-18 2010

Just For Laughs Film is the premiere film event of the Montreal International Just For Laughs Festival. This film extravaganza showcases a selection of the world's best comedy shorts; Hollywood, international and independent film premieres; and star-studded special events.

Tickets on sale at the CinéRobothèque and the Just For Laughs Box Office (2111 Saint Laurent).

Toronto: NFB feature drama Act of Dishonour opens in Toronto July 9.

Following its Edinburgh Film Festival world premiere, Act of Dishonour, by Nelofer Pazira (star of the film Kandahar and author of A Bed of Red Flowers: In Search of My Afghanistan), will open in Toronto on July 9. Set in the Northern region of Afghanistan, this drama tells the story of a young bride-to-be who strays from local customs after befriending an Afghan-Canadian translator.
